About me

mike walleye, club scott
Hi, I'm Michel Richard (aka Mike Walleye) and I write "Walleye Blog by Mike" to share by fishing passion for walleye. I've been fishing walleye in Quebec for over 20 years. I usually go fishing in Northern Quebec on the most popular walleye reservoirs: Gouin, Cabonga, Deziel, etc... When I don't have much time, I will usually fish around Montreal: St-Lawrence river, Lake St-Louis and Lake St-Pierre.

By writing this blog, I will stay up to date on walleyes news and I will share those information with other anglers. Most important for the readers, I will share all my fishing tips, recipes and techniques.

All my best fishing trips will be documented and good quality photos will always be included. While reading my blog, you will find that my best walleye lure is still the Storm Thin Fin that is only available in Canada.

If you need to contact me, just leave a comment on my blog and I will contact you.

Mike,
I will be fishing zec capitachouane on lac bouchette near the cabonga resevoir in mid august. I was wondering if you have ever fished in this area and if so what tips you might have. I purchased some thin fins online thru a canadian source. Your blog is very helpful. this will be my first trip fishing north of the border.

Hi Andrew!

Sorry for the delay on my comment I was on vacation and just came back from a walleye fishing trip in ZEC Fremont. All walleyes were caught with Thin Fin and worm harnesses.

The Orange Thin Fin is still my favorite Walleye fishing lure but I also strongly believe in using a walleye worm harness. Select a floating one with small hook. Always remember the key presentation for walleye with a worm harness is slow speed. If you are not sure about worm harness, let me know and I will draft a post quickly with pictures. ;)

Hi Mike

I'm a new angler, but I really enjoy it. It is really good for me to find you blog here, and I found lot of useful information. In fact, I didn't get any good fish yet, what I can always get are catfish, sunfish, and perch. I only got one BM Bass, and nevery got Walley. I hope I can get on soon.

It's very interesting, that we live in same city and work in same field. I'm IT admin too. Maybe we can get to be friends each other in future :)
